Bringing your creativity to life
Susan Patrice weaves her love of inquiry and poiesis (knowing and becoming through making) into thematic practice groups that invite photographers of all levels to gather, explore, make, and share work. There comes a time in everyone's creative process when we need to expand our resources and find inspiration from peers, and practice groups are a rewarding and transformative way to deepen and expand our practice.

Many of us yearn to create photographs full of feeling, intimacy, and emotion. Contemplative photography offers us a path. By centering our practice in humility and wonder, the living world comes alive revealing its hidden beauty and creative power. Here, we can move beyond rational thought and into the emotional realm of the heart.
This fall, our Contemplative/Poetic practices will focus on weekly exercises that deepen our connection to place, self, and other. We will be experimenting with simple (but powerful) somatic exercises designed to awaken the senses. Together (in the spirit of inquiry and curiosity) we will explore the ways in which these exercises enhance and change our practice while learning to pay special attention to what they reveal about our inner and outer relationships to the places and subjects we photograph.
This practice group is available to subscribers every week (you are welcome to attend as often as you like). Through contemplative photography practices, personal sharing, and supportive group reflection, we strengthen our intuitive skills as well as our connection to the natural world, each other, and the places we inhabit. Each participant will be invited to share 5 -10 images each week for feedback and reflection and will have access to a private online social platform for sharing additional resources and photographs.
Requirements: Photographers of all levels are invited and welcome.
Subscriptions of $125 or higher include a monthly 1-hour private session.
